Keep Your Vision!

Prophetess Tera Carissa Hodges //Encouragement- December 5th, 2011

Merry Christmas! It's that time again when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is also the time of year where many people begin to look back and reflect upon the outcome of the year so far. For some, there has been progress. For others, there have been setbacks. But, no matter what end of the spectrum you've found yourself this season, I want to encourage you to not lose your vision.

If you've progressed, celebrate your progression, but know that there is always room for improvement. If you've had set backs, REJOICE! As long as you have breath in your body, you can still comeback from a set back. Christmas is not just the time to celebrate Jesus' birth, but to remember why He was born; born to die and resurrect. Never forget that we serve the God of the resurrection. No matter how dire the circumstances have become, if you stay in God, remain obedient to His Word and Will, you can always comeback from the thing that temporary took you under; that's what a resurrection is. The challenge however, it to not lose the vision of your resurrection, when you are seemingly being crucified; going through the trials of life.

One definition of vision is defined as the act of anticipating that which will come. That simply means, it's not present, but it's still coming. Herein is where many find themselves, in between Word spoken, and Word manifested. It is during this time of being processed for the Promise you have received in your heart, that the enemy, your flesh, and circumstances may try to convince you that what you have received in your heart, will never manifest in your hand. But, as scripture states, this is not the time to give up, or give in, but to SPEAK. "Speak those things that be not, as though they were," Romans 4:17.

Unbeknowst to many, medically, there is a connection between the eye and the mouth. This is why on many eye drop medication bottles, there are set instructions on how to apply eyedrops, so that the user does not risk there being drainage from their eye drops into their mouth. That's a Word for you! Don't allow what you see to determine what you speak. Keep your eyes and mouth separate because sight and vision are rarely one in the same. Because "life and death is in the power of the tongue," Proverbs 18:21, your mouth runs the risk of killing your vision if you verbally respond to everything negative that you see.

Sight is what you see, vision is where you're going. That's why scripture says, "we walk by faith. Not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7. No matter what 2011 has yielded for you, I want to encourage you to remain steadfast and unmoveable regarding what God has spoken over your life. Some of you may be saying, I don't know what God is saying about me. The Prophet Jeremiah has a Word for you! "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope," Jeremiah 29:11.

No matter what it looks like, compare the picture in your mind, to what you are currently seeing, and know that it gets better. You can transition from "now" to better, through prayer, preparation, perseverance, and positive written reminders, hence "Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, so they that see it, can run with it," Habakkuk 2:2.

As we are headed into 2012, remember, what you see is subject to change if you keep working towards your vision. Merry Christmas! Keep your vision.
